President  Barack  is our  44th  president. He lives in the                       White House. Hawwaii is the home state of President  Obama.
Another symbol of America is the White House. President  John Adams moved in the White House in 1800, even though it wasn't quite finished. The phrase "White House" was frequently used to refer to the President who lived and worked there, and not the building itself.
The American Flag was created by Betsy Ross. The flag had only thirteen stars on a blue field and thirteen stripes to represent the first thirteen colonies. The flag today has fifty stars on a blue field. There is one star for each state in our nation. We honor our flag by saying the pledge of allegiance.
The Statue of Liberty is another symbol of America. It can be found at the entrance of New York harbor. It is made of copper by a French artist named Auguste Bartholdi.  He was commissioned to design a sculpture to celebrate the one hundred year of the Declaration of Independence.
The  sculpture by Gutzon Borglum , on Mount Rushmore features the faces of four  American presidents: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. South Dakota's Black Hills provide the backdrop for Mount Rushmore, the world's greatest mountain carving.
